Adams Hetherington was established in 1991 providing legal services to South East Northumberland from its Offices at Cramlington and Ashington. Following the retirement of one of the founding partners Roderick Adams the firm consolidated at its Ashington office in 2015.

We deal with aspects of residential conveyancing including sales. Purchases, re-mortgages and transfer of equity. We also deal with the right to buys, buy to lets, new builds and shared ownership.

Our family department is able to offer advice and assistance in connection with separation, divorce and child care matters, both private and public.

Advice and assistance can be provided in relation to Wills, Probate and Private Client matters, including Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Our friendly and approachable partners have a vast knowledge and experience in all of the above matters and supported by a great team.

Tony Hetherington

Tony was born and has lived in Tyneside most of his life. He studied law at the University of Manchester and the College of Law in Chester, qualifying in 1985.

He was articled in Manchester and following a spell of post-qualification work he returned to the North East working in South Shields and Wallsend. He co-founded the practice in 1991 operating from offices in Cramlington and Ashington.

Tony’s principal areas of practice are Family and Child Care work, Wills and Probate.

Tony is a long standing member of Newcastle Law Society.

Nicola Peoples

Nicola is Head of our Conveyancing Department and a Qualified as a Legal Executive and has been working with the firm since 1993. Nicola first started out as a Legal Secretary and worked her way up to being a Legal Executive and partner of the firm.

Having completed thousands of transactions, she has great experience in Residential transactions and can provide honest and friendly advice which is second to none.

Nicola is also a local girl and resides in Blyth with her husband and two young sons. She likes spending time with her sons and adventuring on days out.

Gail Spears

Gail has many years of experience having been with the firm for a number of years! She is one of the secretaries to our Nicola Peoples and supports the Conveyancing Department alongside Ashleigh.

Gail has experience within other areas of law as a secretary and is a valued member of the team.

She is a local girl from Ashington, is married with 2 adult children and enjoys nothing more than outdoor activates and spending time with the family.
